Divya Dutta's 'real' item song experience!

Divya Dutta was well received by audiences and critics alike in the character of the straightforward 'Jalebi' in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's DELHI-6. Not stopping at that, Divya it seems is all set to heat up the Bollywood circuit. For starters, the actress also plays a very hot item number in HAAT, THE WEEKLY BAZAAR. Divya is quite excited about the film. ''The film is being directed by Seema Kapoor and it's a good bold subject. But I am moreso excited because I have a kickass role in the film'' says Divya.

Ask her about the item number and Divya just cannot stop raving about it. ''It is an item number and believe it or not I have performed in front of a real audience in the open in Rajasthan. There are no junior artistes in the song. I have been used to shooting in a closed studios and junior artistes throwing money at you but this was one experience I can never forget,'' says Divya.

''We were shooting in this village in Rajasthan and my director informed me that it would be out in the open with villagers watching me. Initially I was awkward and my steps went wrong. But being an artiste I could not let these simple things effect me. I had to go ahead. As I started dancing and gyrating with the typical thumkaas I heard wolf whistles and this encouraged me. I realized that the villagers were enjoying it so I went ahead without any hitches. Moreover, to my wonders I saw villagers literally throwing money on the stage. After a long time I saw the 'atthanni' (the fifty paise coins) being hurled on the stage. It was indeed a life time experience. I enjoyed it,'' reveals Divya.

Well Divya certainly seems to be on a roll now.

Hrithik Roshan back to his daredevilry

Hrithik Roshan, the superhero of Bollywood is back to doing daring action stunts. This time it will not be for a movie but for a commercial that he shot lately. Hrithik was in South Africa recently shooting for a Godrej Cinthol TV Commercial under the direction of Abhinay Deo who is directing Aamir Khan Productions' DELHI BELLY.

Our source informs, ''Hrithik shot for the TV commercial in South Africa for four days and it required him to jump from a great height and also a lot of running, putting pressure on his knees. After a long time Hrithik has done action sequence. Even during the shooting of his upcoming film KITES, he would not only avoid action sequences but also be very careful about strenuous dancing, which could have put pressure on his knees.''

It may be recalled that Hrithik had injured his knees during the shooting of super hero flick KRRISH, which got aggravated during the shoot of Ashutosh Gowarikar's JODHAA AKBAR. Since that time Hrithik has undergone surgery two times-first in Mumbai and second in Los Angeles.

Who looks hotter?

The opening of Evolve Spa was one event to watch out for. Hordes of celebs were seen at the event but the hotties who caught our maximum attention are as follows.

Genelia D'souza: The most striking lady of the event was bubbly & vivacious girl of B-town Genelia. Those drop-dead innocent looks and white-n-white appearance were so penetrating that one can't stop gazing at the pretty lass.

Lara Dutta: She looked effortlessly stunning wearing a white long sleeve top with a revealing ribbed V neck and mandarin collar, dark blue slim jeans accessorized with chunky oxidized silver necklace with matching disk earrings.

Malaika Arora Khan: Hot Malaika looked svelte and well endowed in that chic appearance. Those slim jeans and perfect fit tee made Malaika look all the more gorgeous and hotter than her usual sexy self.

Rani Mukherjee: She was one revelation of the evening. After a long time the radiant actress Rani made her public appearance. And my my! Rani's new avtar - her slim-trim look made us (literally) drool. Dressed in a white full sleeve embroidered tunic with blue faded jeans Rani simply looked elegant.

Aamna: My TV popularity should not drive my film roles

A fortnight back, Aamna Shariff was seen in ALOO CHAAT. The film didn't go on to do much at the box office and Aamna Shariff too was deprived of a platform that could have touted her as the next big thing from the world of television. Even though Aamna has moved on, she defends her choice of the film.

''When I signed on ALOO CHAAT, it was done with all the confidence. There are no regrets attached to my choice. When the makers approached me for the role, they did so like they would have had done for any newcomer. Frankly, I liked their attitude because they didn't want me to do the film just in order to cash in on my TV popularity. They took me on because they felt that I could truly do justice to the role'', says Aamna who is guarded about her upcoming films which are in the pipeline.

''One thing is for sure though that I will never allow my TV stint to be a deciding factor for the film makers. They have to approach me for the parts that they believe would suit me'', she adds, ''I am open to glamorous roles as well but then the fact is that audiences have seen enough of glamour. Now the trend is changing and people want to see good content based film. That's the kind of movies I wish to do''.

Now that her first film has released, how does she feel her transition from TV to Bollywood has been?

''Honestly, it wasn't very easy or tough for transition. I never thought on those lines'', she smiles, ''But yes, it was good to be a part of 'naach-gaana' routine. I continue to get compliments for my songs like 'Dhadke Jiya' as well as RDB's music video of 'Aloo Chaat'. It has been fun so far.''

Konkona Sen puts her foot down

After seeing the rushes of their film, the makers of upcoming film WAKE UP SID, Dharma Productions felt that their lead actress Konkona Sen Sharma wasn't looking her best (read appeared fat). They immediately conveyed this to Konkona in polite words and requested her for a re-shoot of all these portions.

Though this would have lead to additional production costs but they were completely ready for it. But Koko reacted quite weirdly to this. She hit her furious foot down declaring, ''This is what I am and this is what you shall get!''

Director Ayaan Mukherjee (Rani's cousin) had no option but to move on to the next schedule. Unit insiders claim, Konkona was signed on for the project as the script demanded an ordinary looking girl who was a perfect contrast to the film's lead actor Ranbir Kapoor. So one wonders why the makers were creating a fuss about it all now.

Salman to clash with Vivek on November 27th!

Salman Khans most ambitious film till date VEER has been scheduled for a November 27th release. And surprisingly on the same date Dharma Productions yet to be titled Saif-Kareena-Vivek starrer, directed by Rensil DSilva, is also being planned for release.

It will be for the first time that any of Salmans film will clash with that of old foe Vivek Oberois. While, Salmans VEER is a much bigger project, said to be having 100 crore budget, Viveks film can prove tough competition to VEER because of its topical subject and coming together of Karan Johar and UTV's smart marketing strategies. It is learnt to have a plot line quiet similar to that of 1999 released Hollywood thriller, ARLINGTON ROAD. In the film, Saif and Kareena play a Muslim couple who are terrorists living a double life. Vivek is the second lead in the film and he is also a terrorist. And Minissha Lamba who plays a journalist is his love interest. Om Puri also has an important role in the film. Irrfan was approached to play the role of a terrorist in the film but he turned it down.

If one recollects, in April 2003, Vivek Oberoi had held a press conference at his house complaining about Salman Khan harassing him over phone and giving him life threats for his then relationship with Aishwarya Rai. Salman had that time not reacted to the negative publicity he got from this episode but it is learnt that he made sure that Vivek was almost ostracized by most industrywalas. Post his break up with Ash, Vivek on many occasions tried patching up with Salman, but in vain. The controversial Khan always chose to ignore him and hinted that he will never forgive him.

Well Vivek looks like your idea of patch-up will have to take a backseat and get ready for one more clash in the form of Box-office!

Abhishek Bachchan's next with Rajshris!

JODHAA AKBAR's stupendous success has driven many filmmakers to make films on the prominent & glorious characters of history. And not
surprisingly, the latest to join the bandwagon are Rajshris who are well-known for making films based on family-oriented dramas & Indian culture &
tradition.

If the current media reports are to be believed than Rajshris are planning a bio-pic on the life and music of the legendary musician-singer Tansen, who
regaled Emperor Akbar's court in the 16th century. And just like during their EK VIVAAH AISA BHI, this time too the direction of the film will not
be handled by Sooraj Barjatya and instead an outsider would look after the direction. This time director Satish Kaushik will be directing their movie.

Evidently, the last important film on Tansen was made way back in 1943 when K L Saigal immortalized the classical vocalist with his screen presence
and voice in a film directed by Jayant Desai. Media even speculated that Barjatyas-Satish might zero in on singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya as
he is the only actor-singer prevailing in Bollywood at present and can perfectly fit the bill. But seems like Barjatyas had their own mind, they didn't
even consider their favourite Salman for that matter. It is heard that they are planning to rope in Abhishek Bachchan to play Tansen. As according to
Barjatyas and Satish KAushik, Abhishek has the perfect look and intensity with perfect flair of dialogue delivery. Also supposedly, the Aby Baby is
pretty fluent in Hindi language just like his father (Big B) which could be an added advantage for the makers.

Apparently if Abhishek becomes a part of this project than this would be his second outing with Rajshris after MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON. If
everything goes accordingly than this would be for the first time when director Satish Kaushik & Bollywood giants Rajshris will work together on a
project.

Bips-Neil love John's body

John Abraham's 'dostana' with his gym is doing wonders these days. This 'hottie' is not just adding new female but males to his fan list every day.

The latest to join the gang are girlfriend-actor Bipasha Basu and two-film-old Neil Nitin Mukesh.

''John has a great body...in fact, one of the best in Bollywood. I love the way he works to maintain it and I wish he would flaunt it more often on-screen,'' Bipasha said in a recent interview.

She even said John deserves all male and female attentions that he is getting.

''I would be seriously worried if women and gays didn't drool over him. He deserves it,'' Bips said.

On the other hand, Neil, who will be sharing screen with John in Yash Chopra's NEW YORK , is all praises for his 'hot bod'.

''John is blessed with the most beautiful body any man can ever have. My warning to all men out there is - if you don't have a body like John Abraham, never show it off and keep wearing your shirt,'' Neil said.

''Even I have decided not to open my shirt for a couple of years till I get into shape...and for that I have been consulting John on my workout regime regularly for quite some time now,'' said Neil.
